Wildcats Have Strong Showing at The Alpena News Meet

Wildcats Lose: -
LINCOLN, MI - The Alpena Track teams had a very strong showing at The Alpena News Meet on Tuesday at Alcona High School.  For the boys, Cooper Bright placed first in the 100, 200, and 400, while Hayden Allen was first in the 1600, 3200, and part of the winning 4x800 with Hunter Hitzleberger, Elijah Allen and Jacob Kochanski. Hayden placed second in the 800 run.  In addition to placing first in the 4x800, Hunter also placed first in the 800 and a part of the winning 4x400 with Jeremiah Bullis, Joe Sheridan and John Kurowski. The relay team of Sam Cook, Jesse Sheldon, Mike Herrmann and Devin LaMay took first places in both the 4x100 and 4x200. Griffin Eggleston placed first in the High jump. For the girls, Grace Mitchell set a new personal record in route to winning the 800m event.  Madi Szymanski won the 1600m and 2nd on the 400m.  All three relay teams (4x100, 4x200, 4x400, and 4x800) finished 2nd.  Chloe Lawrence placed 1st in the pole vault.     Cooper Bright and Madi Szymanski will compete in the MHSAA Finals on June 5.
