JV Baseball Splits Season Opening Doubleheader

SAGINAW, MI - The Alpena JV Baseball team opened the 2018 season with a two-game series at Saginaw Nouvel on Monday afternoon. In game 1, the Wildcats blew open a close game to pull away 15-3. Keegan Spomer, Jack Schmanski and Jordan Schultz all pitched for the Wildcats while Alec Kent went 3-for-3 for Alpena and Adam Urlaub was 2-for-2 with a double.
In game 2, Nouvel got revenge by pounding out a 12-4 victory to salvage a split. Hunter Canute and Luke Tucker each had a single for the Wildcats.
